Raleigh, N.C. —North Carolina’s electric cooperatives are reporting that only 2,100 outages remain in the wake of yesterday’s severe weather event. A timeline of activity follows:

• The network of 26 electric cooperatives reported a collective peak of 19,700 outages scattered across the state on Wednesday evening.
• Outage numbers fluctuated as rain and wind subsided and then picked back up again.
• Crews worked overnight to restore power to as many cooperative members as possible.
• Crews from unaffected electric cooperatives have moved in to help their peers restore remaining outages.

As the final outages are restored, we’d like to thank our cooperative members for their support and patience as crews continue to work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power. We would also like to thank the line crews for their dedication and determination.
