Touchstone Energy Sports Camp Scholarship Winners Recognized at Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Game

The 2019 recipients of the Touchstone Energy Sports Camp Scholarships to the Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Camp were recognized on the court on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the N.C. State women’s basketball game against Georgia Tech. The scholarship winners were also honored at a pre-game reception at Reynolds Coliseum attended by Coach Wes Moore and Mr. and Mrs. Wuf.

The scholarship program, sponsored by North Carolina’s electric cooperatives, allows rising sixth through eighth graders to attend summer basketball camp for free. Young women attend the Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Camp at N.C. State University in Raleigh, and young men attend the Roy Williams Basketball Camp at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Campers at both overnight camps work closely with college basketball coaches and camp staff to develop fundamental skills that help them excel both on and off the court.

Applications are currently being accepted for the 2020 scholarship program, with a final deadline of March 31. Applicants will be judged on academics, extracurricular activities and an essay.
