Sport a Shirt and Support a Family at the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina

For years, North Carolina’s electric cooperatives have proudly supported the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina and its mission to provide a temporary “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at local medical facilities. The facility provides critical service each year to more than 500 families, many of whom are cooperative members.

Through the 2019 Sport A Shirt, Share A Night fundraiser, you can purchase a t-shirt for $10 dollars and fund a one-night stay for a family at the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville. Visit the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina website to learn more and order a shirt for yourself or for a group. Donations can also be made on their website.

The Ronald McDonald House encourages everyone who purchases a shirt to wear it on Friday, May 3, in support of the organization and Ronald McDonald House families, and to post a picture on social media using the hashtag #RMHSAS.

Winston Howell, CEO of Edgecombe-Martin County EMC, serves on the board of directors at the House, and Mike Davis, CEO of Tri-County EMC, is a former board member. Over the years, cooperatives have hosted local fundraisers to support the House and raised awareness of the organization through special events at ECU football games. Recently, North Carolina’s electric cooperatives also donated funding for a state-of-the-art security system installed in a new, 10,000-square-foot addition to the property, giving families who are staying there peace of mind during a difficult time.
