Roanoke Electric Cooperative employees recently donated a total $428 in school supplies to the Hertford County Public Schools “Stuff the Bus” drive. The co-op added to the donation with a check for $250. Supplies will be used in Hertford County Public School classrooms throughout the school year.
Efforts like this to support local communities are part of what make co-ops different. North Carolina’s cooperatives not only provide electricity, but they also seek to empower their members and communities through economic development and outreach that enriches daily quality of life.
