North Carolina Middle School Students Recognized at Wolfpack Women’s Basketball Game as 2005 Kay Yow Basketball Camp Touchstone Energy Scholarship Winners

Raleigh, N.C. —North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives’ 2005 Kay Yow Basketball Camp Scholarship winners were recognized at a special halftime presentation at the February 12 Wolfpack Women’s basketball game against Georgia Tech.

The 35 scholarship winners were treated to a catered barbecue lunch and were escorted to their seats behind the basketball goal to cheer on the Wolfpack Women’s basketball team. At halftime, the scholarship winners from across the state were recognized on the court, receiving a certificate of achievement from Nelle Hotchkiss, Senior Vice President of North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives, as well as congratulatory hugs from Mr. and Mrs. Wolf, North Carolina State University’s mascots.

The young women were selected last summer as scholarship recipients as a result of their excellent applications and essays on “Why I Want To Attend Kay Yow Basketball Camp.” Across the state, more than 38 young women were chosen to attend this nationally known basketball camp in Raleigh in June 2005.

“North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives were delighted to continue the Touchstone Energy scholarship winners’ educational experience by inviting them to exciting Division 1 collegiate game,” said Suzanne Ward, Manager of Public Relations for North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives.
