Nelle Hotchkiss of North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives Is Newly Elected Touchstone Energy Board Member

Raleigh, N.C. —Nelle Hotchkiss, senior vice president of corporate relations at North Carolina Association of Electric Cooperatives, has been elected to the Touchstone Energy Board of Directors. This will be her first term on the national board.

Hotchkiss has been an unwavering supporter of Touchstone Energy and its initiatives since the brand was launched in 1998. Through her job responsibilities, which include all external programs, such as branding, advertising, media and community relations, government relations, and training and safety, Hotchkiss has been able to successfully integrate the Touchstone Energy brand in a broad range of areas that has helped to promote the advantages of being a member of an electric cooperative.

Hotchkiss will replace Chuck Terrill, executive vice president and CEO of North Carolina EMC, whose terms has expired.

“Chuck Terrill is a true champion of the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives brand,” said Jim Bausell, COO of Touchstone Energy Cooperatives. “Through his exceptional leadership on the board of directors, Touchstone Energy has become the premier national brand within the electric utility industry,” he added.

Hotchkiss added, “I look forward to continuing the tradition of North Carolina’s Touchstone Energy cooperatives’ involvement on the Touchstone Energy board, and will continue to look for ways to increase brand awareness nationally, as well as here locally.”

Hotchkiss has been a tireless champion of electric cooperatives for more than thirteen years, first with Maryland-Delaware-Virginia Association of Electric Cooperatives, and for the last 10 years with the North Carolina electric cooperatives. She is also an active member of the Rural Electric Statewide Manager’s Association (RESMA), and has served as an alternate to the Touchstone Energy board for the past six years.

Hotchkiss is a native of Richmond, Virginia and holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York.
