NC Co-ops Vote: Know Your Options for Election Day

With this year’s election season in full swing, it’s important for all electric co-op employees and members to make their voices heard at the polls.

Whether you plan on voting by absentee ballot or in person, here are important dates to keep in mind between now and November:

October 9: Voter Registration Deadline

To check on your registration status, visit vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/. This link also lets you check your sample ballots, Election Day polling place, absentee request information, and more.

October 27: Deadline to request an absentee ballot

Visit ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-mail to learn more about voting by mail or to request your absentee ballot.

October 15-31: Early Voting

Find early voting sites and schedules in your county with the One-Stop Early Voting Site Search available through the N.C. State Board of Elections. During early voting, voters may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county. This is different from Election Day when registered voters must vote at their assigned precinct.

November 3: Election Day

Polling places are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. Any voter in line at 7:30 p.m. will be able to vote. Find your Election Day polling place through the Voter Search Tool or search using your address with the Polling Place Search.

Once you have confirmed your registration and have a voting plan, share this information with your friends and family. In this and every election, let’s make sure our elected officials know that NC Co-ops Vote! Follow @NCCoopsVote on Facebook and Twitter for more information about voting and the upcoming election.
