The Human Connections Fund will remain open this week in response to Hurricane Irma, after donations were collected last week for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Cooperatives stand with each other in times of need, and the Human Connections Fund allows employees of North Carolina’s electric cooperatives to join together to help sister cooperatives and their employees when disaster strikes.
The Human Connections Fund will collect contributions for Hurricane Irma through Tuesday, Sept. 19. Tax-deductible contributions will benefit cooperative employees and communities impacted by Hurricane Irma.
“Your generosity will make a big difference for those beginning the long journey towards recovery,” said Nelle Hotchkiss, senior vice president of Corporate Relations for North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives. “For the third time this summer, I thank you for believing in the cooperative difference and the power of human connections.”
Members of ElecTel Credit Union can call 1-800-849-5600 and ask to make a contribution to the Human Connections Fund. Donation funds will be transferred directly from members’ accounts. ElecTel will also accept over-the-counter deposits and checks (made payable to “Human Connections Fund”) mailed to:
