Cooperatives Activate Human Connections Fund to Support Outer Banks Communities

North Carolina’s electric cooperatives’ employees are making donations to support co-op communities on Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands.

Recipient organizations will include the Hatteras Island Food Pantry, which is in need of replenished supplies, and the Tideland Electric Care Trust, which will distribute funds locally. Contributions, which are tax-deductible, will directly benefit those impacted by the loss of transmission service to the islands, and subsequent evacuation of tourists, following a bridge construction accident.

If you’re a co-op member who would like to donate, please contact your local electric cooperative by Aug. 14 to find out how to add your support.
