Harnessing the power of resilience through innovation and emerging technologies – that’s the vision that brought more than 460 industry leaders together at last week’s Cooperative Technologies Conference and Expo (CTCE).
CTCE 2023 was the largest gathering in the 20-year history of the event. More than 200 cooperative employees from North Carolina, the Southeast and beyond, joined 260 industry partners to explore innovative technologies that will shape the future of the electric grid and build a brighter future for cooperative communities across NC and the country.
“North Carolina’s electric cooperatives are proud to host this annual conference and lead the conversation on the most pressing issues facing our industry,” said Amadou Fall, chief operating officer at North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives. “Enhancing reliability and resilience through innovation, while maintaining affordability, is key to our vision of building a brighter future for co-op communities across North Carolina.”
During the four-day conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, speakers and attendees came together to discuss critical issues, including reliability and grid resilience, as well as emerging technologies and innovation. Conference sessions focused on key topics facing cooperatives including cybersecurity, smart grid technology, distributed energy resources, artificial intelligence and more.
Beyond the traditional conference sessions, attendees were able to explore the exhibit hall that featured 81 exhibitors representing organizations specializing in products and services ranging from cybersecurity to drone solutions for co-ops. A new addition to this year’s conference was speed networking sessions that connected cooperative IT professionals and engineers with industry partners to discuss new products to help improve business operations.
