Carolina Country Magazine Receives National Awards

Carolina Country magazine was recognized last week at the National Electric Cooperative Statewide Editors Association (SEA) annual Willies Awards presentations, named for electric cooperative mascot Willie Wiredhand. The awards recognize statewide publications for excellence in writing, photography and design.

Carolina Country received an award for Best Treatment of Technical Subject for “Life on a Microgrid,” coverage of the Heron’s Nest residential microgrid served by Brunswick Electric. The magazine also received awards of merit for Best Editorial for “Plugging in to Community”; Best Illustration for “Shells of North Carolina”; and Best Digital Communication for the publication’s website at carolinacountry.com.
