Middle school boys in sixth, seventh or eighth grade at eligible schools during the 2020-2021 school year can apply for a scholarship to attend the Roy Williams Carolina Basketball Camp June 20-24, 2020, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Per NCAA rules, this scholarship is NOT available to students entering ninth grade or above. Each winner will receive an all-expenses-paid scholarship to attend the camp, which will include meals and lodging. The scholarship does not include travel costs. Winners will be expected to secure their own travel arrangements.

Applicants must complete the below application, write a brief essay (300 words or less) from one of the two topics provided, and answer the short answer question (100 words or less). All applicants must have a parent/guardian sign consent in order to be eligible for the scholarship.

Each electric cooperative will award one scholarship for a boy to attend the camp. A total of 26 scholarships will be awarded statewide. To find out if your school is eligible, please contact your local electric cooperative using the contact information found on our website.

Applications must be completed and submitted by March 31, 2020.

I do hereby allow my child to attend the Roy Williams Carolina Basketball Camp at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, should he be chosen as a scholarship recipient from my local electric cooperative.

I do hereby commit to provide transportation for my child to and from the camp, located in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Should my child win this scholarship, he will be able to attend the camp from June 20-24, 2020

I understand that if my child cannot meet these requirements, he will not be eligible for the scholarship,

The Roy Williams Carolina Basketball Camp requires that campers be able to safely participate in camp activities and that children with medical or mental conditions that interfere with safe participation are not eligible to attend. I will familiarize myself with the medical requirements stated in the camp application materials and certify that by my application, that my child is physically and mentally able to safely participate in the camp.

I understand that available health care services at the camp do not include on-site care by a physician. Registered nurses and athletic trainers are on duty to oversee MINOR MEDICAL CONDITIONS only. The camp cannot accept students who cannot take part in normal camp routines and activities.

I understand that the Roy Williams Carolina Basketball Camp management has the right of refusal for any camper based on the above conditions and has the ability to terminate a camper's time at the camp due to an infraction of camp rules.
