Path of Electricity

Electricity is generated using a variety of power sources including nuclear, gas/oil, coal and renewable energy such as solar. It then travels over transmission and distribution lines to your home or business. The electric power passes through transformers to reduce its voltage before being used by homes, schools, farms, businesses and other cooperative members. (View PDF)

Electricity is extremely powerful and when used unsafely it can result in injury, death and damage to property. You should always exercise caution around electricity and electrical devices to ensure that you and your family stay safe.
