North Carolina’s 26 electric cooperatives are rooted in the communities they serve, and they are committed to supporting their local communities and members. By investing in worthy programs focused on strengthening rural communities, advancing education, and supporting youth opportunities, electric cooperatives are building a brighter future for us all.
Commitment to Community
“The Bright Ideas grant program has provided me with the opportunity year after year to furnish my students with quality, hands-on, problem-solving adventures!”
“Each year, North Carolina 4-H’ers gather to exchange ideas, gain knowledge and learn the importance of being an active and engaged citizen. This would never have been possible without NCEC and their commitment to youth voice and youth citizenship in action.”
Resources for Educators
Electric cooperatives are proud to be a resource for the schools, students and teachers they serve. In addition to Bright Ideas education grants, local cooperatives can provide speakers or educational materials for career fairs, electrical safety demonstrations, energy efficiency and renewable energy.
Youth Opportunities
Cooperatives are committed to inspiring the next generation. Through academic initiatives, sports camp scholarships and the annual Youth Tour, electric co-ops are investing in K-12 students across North Carolina.
Economic Development
We’re investing in innovative energy projects and economic development activities that build a brighter future for our communities and help our members grow and thrive. By partnering with economic development agencies across the state, we are doing our part to support job creation and businesses seeking to start, expand or relocate.
